Process Production includes advanced
capabilities needed to manage an efficient
and effective process manufacturing
operation including:
Catch Weight Catch-weight functionality
allows inventory control of items with
dual units of measurement, and mutually
unequal conversions. Manufacturers see
demand, available stock, scheduled receipts
and consumption, through outlook/scenario
tables. Lot Tracking
Manufacturers can update and maintain
a repository of individual lot/sub-lot
transactions and track them by lot numbers,
finished goods, ingredients and co-products/by
products. This forms the basis for cause-effect
analyses and triggering product recalls.
Tracking works in both forward and backward
mode. The solution automatically accepts,
rejects, and quarantines lots following
quality testing process or expiration
of product life. Attribute
Management 3 different types
of attributes are defined – Quantitative,
Qualitative and Date as well as user-defined
item attribute-mapping. In case of combine/split
lots, the attribute values of the resultant
lot can be rule-based. Attributes can
be used for pricing and allocations.
Shelf Life
Manufacturers can manage the shelf-life
for a lot by computing its expiry date.
Sales orders can be generated using
the expiry status of lots, resulting
in less wastage. Multiple
Pack Sizes & Containers
Manufacturers can model the packing
process in terms of items, pack recipe
and associated resources. The solution
allows containerization of items including
returnable containers. Product
Costing The solution automatically
computes product cost on the basis of
material consumption, labor and sub-contract
overhead, by displaying all or selective
items. Managers can readily modify system-computed
costs, update current costs based on
the last purchase price, and perform
what-if product cost simulations.
Product Conversions
The solution enables transformation
an item from a given lot to another
item with a different lot number. The
solution also helps to model the re-gradation
of items after quality feedback, and
the transfer of a bulk item from one
type of packing to another. This ensures
continuous goods movement into the market,
even during shortage of the originally
specified packing material. |
