Ramco
Systems today announced the
availability of Business Process
Platform™ (BPP) v3.0,
a business process modeling
and integrated service environment
for composing agile, global-class
applications. The Ramco BPP
is the only platform that provides
complete and continuous alignment
between business processes and
applications along with the
ability to change those applications
on demand as business requirements
shift
Current software development
approaches often fail to provide
enterprises with sufficient
flexibility and speed to respond
and change to meet customer
demands. The Ramco approach
to application development—which
models and manages applications
independently from the architecture
or infrastructure—results
in applications that “change
on demand” to support
the changing needs of the
business. With its “model-to-code”
capability, the Ramco BPP
automates the process of building
customized enterprise-class
applications by integrating
dynamic process modeling,
a business services repository,
and an environment for composing
the applications in a single
solution.
As the foundation of the
Ramco Business Process Delivery
System (BPDS), the BPP is
the backbone for building
and deploying agile applications
that are composed, not coded,
using existing or newly created
business services that represent
common business processes.
The Ramco BPDS includes a
library of more than 1,000
pre-built business services
that users deploy in the BPP
to create new or update existing
enterprise applications. These
business services are reusable,
pre-packaged business processes
that represent best practices
across a variety of verticals,
including banking, insurance,
manufacturing, and retail.
The BPDS also includes Ramco
Analytics, a business intelligence
environment for managing,
monitoring, and reporting
on key business processes
and critical business data
in an executive dashboard
environment.
“Ramco is one of very
few vendors today capable
of combining business processes,
modeling technology, services
architectures, and business
services together into a single
offering,” said Joshua
Greenbaum, analyst at Enterprise
Applications Consulting. “The
enhancements to the underlying
technology in the Business
Process Platform reinforce
Ramco’s position as
a leading software vendor
that can help companies develop,
deploy, and benefit from enterprise
applications based on the
latest SOA-based technologies.”
Ramco’s BPP helps preserve
existing investments in application
infrastructure and support
an organization’s transition
to a SOA. Based on SOA standards,
the Ramco BPP provides a uniform,
non-proprietary architecture
that works with all technologies
and infrastructure platforms.
Key enhancements to the BPP
include:
-
Legacy
transformation:
Improved asset discovery
that automatically
extracts business
rules and business
logic from legacy
applications and
brings them into
the modeling environment.
This information
is then converted
into new business
services that can
be reused with more
modern architectures
-
Governance
and compliance:
A framework to model
business process
that make it easy
to include the necessary
CGR requirements
in the application
and ensure compliance
through monitoring
and notification
of exceptions
-
BPEL
support: Enhanced
support for industry-standard
BPEL (Business Process
Execution Language)
that enables rapid
development and
change-on-demand
capabilities, and
ensures interoperability
with existing business
process modeling
and workflow systems

“Ramco has consistently
delivered the technology and
services we need to create a
more agile IT infrastructure,
and the enhancements to the
Ramco Business Process Platform
demonstrate that they are continuing
to respond to our evolving customer
requirements,” said Bruce
Eaton, vice president for lending
technology at Commerce Bank,
a New Jersey-based bank with
assets of more than $43 Billion.
Commerce Bank is using the Ramco
BPDS to automate its key commercial
loan origination processes,
including customer relationship
management, underwriting, customer
due diligence, loan closing,
and loan booking.
“Ramco’s BPP makes
composable enterprise applications
a reality. The unique blueprinting
capabilities of the Ramco BPP
allow us to deliver a flexible
process model that serves as
the foundation for business
applications that easily adapt
to the enterprise,” said
Barbara Saxby, chief marketing
officer for Ramco. “Business
applications built with Ramco’s
BPDS continuously support business
processes without becoming irrelevant
or inhibiting innovation—a
capability that is simply impossible
with traditional application
development methods.”
