Ramco to launch Workforce Innovation Centre in Australia

Melbourne, AUSTRALIA / Chennai, INDIA – March 15, 2018 – Global enterprise software specialist, Ramco Systems today announced that it will set up its Asia-Pacific Centre of Excellence for Workforce Innovation in Melbourne, drawing top tech talent from across Australia to design and develop cloud-based solutions to address human resources challenges.

The state-of-the-art innovation centre will be located at Ramco’s oceania headquarters in Melbourne’s Southbank district, which has in the recent years emerged as a technological hub and one of Asia-Pacific’s most promising start-up ecosystems.

From programmers to consulting strategists and social scientists, the centre aims at employing innovators who will prototype next-generation workforce management solutions which will take the user to a frictionless computing era. The centre will be a hub for testing new-age technologies such as Chatbots, facial recognition based Time & Attendance, NLP based virtual assistants, and many more productivity tools to automate mundane daily tasks.

Interestingly, Ramco is among the very few HR vendors to have productionised Bots for HR. Leading IT Advisory, Gartner in its recent report on Workforce Management Systems (WFM) mentions Ramco Systems as one among the only two to offer Virtual Assistants or Bots in HR. Ramco will also partner with Victorian universities at the first instance, and then with other universities across Australia, to source talent for the centre, at a time when Melbourne is ramping up efforts to create jobs in its knowledge sector. Last year, the City of Melbourne announced the establishment of the Melbourne Innovation Districts, a technology and infrastructure initiative to drive urban development.

In 2016, Ramco launched a similar innovation center in Singapore to develop disruptive aviation IT solutions such as Mixed Reality based applications leveraging HoloLens for ground engineers; predictive maintenance tools, chatbots to blockchain and more.

P.R. Venketrama Raja, Chairman, Ramco Systems, said, “We are pleased to announce the opening of our Workforce Innovation centre in Melbourne. With millennials entering the workforce and Gig economy becoming the norm, traditional HR solutions are no longer able to address the changing demands of HR. The new innovation lab will see us collaborate with the Victorian Government in leveraging local talent to prototype future-ready HR solutions designed to address the pain points of 21st century working life. This lab’s strategic location in Melbourne positions us at the forefront of this field and shores up our position as a leading global HR software developer.”

During his visit to India, Philip Dalidakis, Victoria’s Minister for Trade and Investment, Innovation and the Digital Economy, said, “Victoria is home to some of the world’s brightest tech talent and Ramco’s new lab will be a platform for fresh ideas that will strengthen our position as an international technology hub.”

Complete with chatbots and simplified User Experience, organizations can deploy Ramco HCM on-cloud, on premise or leverage as a managed service. The multi-tenant architecture with embedded intelligence and device agnostics features now serves more than 450 customers worldwide. With innovative concepts of Haptic Design, Context-sensitive Pop-ups, Facial Recognition based Attendance and Chatbots to carry out self-service, Ramco has been setting the benchmark for Innovation in this segment.
